Anambra Police Bursts Onitsha Gun Running Syndicate, Nabs Dealer, Two Accomplisices

Anambra state Police Command has unearthed a major arms running syndicate in Onitsha, the commercial nerve centre of the state.. 

The disclosure is contained in a press statement release by the command's image maker, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu on Saturday. 

According to the statement, the major illegal arms dealing network was bursted following weeks of intensive and painstaking surveillance mounted by operatives of the command.

In addition to arresting the dealer and two accomplices, the operatives recovered 23 Automatic Pump Action Guns and 625 live cartridges. 

The Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, who was obviously plessed with the outcome of the operation, commended the operatives and urged the general public to avail the command with useful informatiin to ensure adequate security in the state at all times particularly now that the yuletide is around the corner.
