Senator Afegbua Passes at 79

Second Republic Senator, Franca Afegbua, is dead. Her demise was announced in a statement by the Afegbua family on Sunday. 

According to the statement, the passing of the Senator who represented Bendel North on the platform of the defunct National Party of Nigeria, NPN. 

“The Afegbua family of Edo State has confirmed the demise of the first woman senator in Nigeria, Senator Franca Afegbua, whose sad event occurred this morning, Sunday, March 12, 2023... "

The late Senator Afegbua was the first Nigerian female member of the Upper Chambers of the Nigerian legislative house. She hailed from Okpella, Etsako East Local Government Area, Edo state.
