Child Trafficking: Anambra Police Nab One

Operatives of the Nigerian Police, attached to the Ogidi Area Command, Anambra State, on Saturday, arrested one Joshua Simon. They also recovered a five-year girl from him in what is suspected to be child trafficking run. 

The young girl, identified as Nkrmdilim Jacob, was alleged to have been taken from her parent who are resident of Umuota Village, Obosi, in Idemili North Council Area of the state.

The suspect, who is from Ohaozara, Ebonyi State, was apprehended following credible intelligence report.

In a statement issued by spokesperson of the command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the command disclosed that the suspect had already boarded a commercial vehicle en route an unknown destination when he was arrested.

He is in custody and currently undergoing interrogation to ascertain his motives and determine whether he is part of a larger child trafficking network.
