Dozens Killed by Gunmen in Taraba Community
Gunmen on Friday killed dozens of people in a community in Taraba state.
Rampaging gunmen on Friday murdered no fewer than 15 hapless persons in Garin Baka, a community in Ardo-Kola council area of Taraba state.
The attackers were said to have ambushed the community at about 7:30pm during which they burnt many homesteads, killed domestic animals and left more people with bullet wounds.
"We barely finished breaking our fasting and we were in the mosque praying when we started hearing gunshots from different corners of our community," a resident said.
Residents also disclosed that several other people, including women and children, are still missing.
Though the state police command confirmed, via its spokesperson, Abdullahi Usman, that indeed, an attack took place, it however, could not give any casualty figure.
The command said it was still expecting information from its division headquarters in the council area.
