Ihiala Murder of 80 Year-Old woman: Police Nab 2 Suspects

Operatives of the Nigerian Police Anambra State command, early Tuesday, arrested two Chidiebere Igboanugo and Emmanuel Ibeabuchi over the murder of an 80 year-old woman, Theresa Igbojonu, in Ihiala, headquarters of Ihiala council area.
She was tied on both the legs and mouth prior to her murder.
The disclosure is contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the command spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu.
The statement noted that ongoing investigations revealed that the command's Joint Security Team picked up Chidiebere on April 5, 2025 following the homicide report by the son of the deceased three days earlier who also reported that he saw the suspect with her mother's stolen motorcycle along the Ezego junction, Ihiala.
The black CG motorcycle has been recovered. Following the information gleaned from Chidiebere, Ibeabuchi, named as one of the gang members that murdered the old woman, was promptly arrested on Monday.
Further information revealed that two other men, Alla and Emeka, both of whom are currently at large, are part of their gang members involved in the murder.
While the arrested suspects will soon have their day in court pending the completion of investigations, efforts are being made to apprehend the other fleeing suspects
