Insurance Goal Tender Receives Super Eagles' Call-Up

Insurance of Benin goal tender, Amas Obasogie, has been handed a call-up to the national football team, the Super Eagles.
Obasogie, one of the outstanding revelations in the Nigerian Premier Football League, got his call to be part of the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
The 23 year-old goal keeper, who is already having a good start in the ongoing national league, is scheduled to replace Italy-based, Udinese goal keeper, Maduka Okoye, who though, was included in the initial 23-man call-up, however, withdrew from the team without adducing any reason.
Obasogie, who played a key role in Insurance's last season appearance at the Federation Cup run, is teaming up with Olorunleke Ojo of Eyimba of Aba, and Francis Uzoho, Omonia FC, Cyprus, as the three goalkeepers selected for the two qualifying matches.
The Super Eagles is scheduled to face Lesotho at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, on Thursday, November 16, before going for the second match in Harare against Zimbabwe, on Saturday, November 19.
