Iran Unveils US MQ-9 Reaper Look-Alike Armed Drone
*Says it has capability to reach israel
Iran has officially unveiled an armed drone that looks like America’s MQ-9 Reaper.
The unmanned aircraft, known as Mohajer-10, is said to have the capacity to be airborne for 24 hours and with a range effective enough to reach the Arab country’s archenemy, Israel.
Mohajer, which means 'immigrant', was manufacture since 1985 and unveiled Tuesday during a conference marking by the country’s Defense Industry Day.
Iranian News Agency, IRNA, said the unmanned aircraft has the capability to fly up to 24,000 feet with a speed of 210 kph, about 130 mph, while carrying a bomb payload of up to 300 kilograms, about 660 pounds.
It added that the air craft could also carry electronic surveillance equipment and a camera.
President Ebrahim Raisi, who was on ground to view the unveiling, described the occasion as one in which Iran can proudly be introduced as a technologically advanced nation.
In his comment read on state television, Raisi said;
“Today, we can firmly introduce Iran as an advanced and technologic nation to the world.”
Raisi, who reiterated his country’s stance about friendly relations with “all countries in the world,” added that Iran’s armed forces will however, ‘cut off any hand that will reaches out in an attempt to invade Iran’.
