Justice Served: Anambra Police Crack Down on Crime

In a major breakthrough, the Anambra State Police Command has apprehended nine suspects involved in the gruesome murder of Honorable Justice Azuka, a member of the State House of Assembly representing Onitsha North Constituency 1.
The suspects were arrested on February 6, 2025, at the Second Niger Bridge, following an intensive investigation by the police. The joint operation, carried out with the Anambra State Vigilante Operatives, marked a significant milestone in the command's efforts to combat crime and ensure justice in the state.
Among the arrested suspects was Peter Sunday, a 20-year-old with a striking tattoo on his chest that read "No peace 4 d Government."
The other suspects included Ugochukwu Onuorah, Ikemefuna Ossai, Ikenna Orugu, Chibuike Obiefuna, Chinonso Olisa, Chinedu Okoli, and David Ojini. In a related development, the police also arrested Chidiebere Nwosu, a notorious kidnap suspect, in Uruagu, Nnewi.
Some members of his gang were neutralized during the operation. The Anambra State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has been working tirelessly to rid the state of crime.
Over 100 notorious criminals have been neutralized, and multiple criminal camps destroyed in various locations, including Ufuma, Eziowelle, Achalla, and Ogbaru.
The commissioner expressed his gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, and the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo, for their unwavering support.
He assured the public that the police will continue to work diligently to protect lives and properties, ensuring a safer Anambra State for all.
