More Troubles for Evans, Others as Lagos State Re-Arraigns Them
Lagos State government Re-Arraigns convicted billionaire Kidnapper, Evans.

Convicted billionaire Kidnapper, Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, also known as Evans, alongside four of his accomplices, was on Wednesday rearraigned by the Lagos state government.
Chukwudumeme, alongside Joseph Emeka, Victor Aduba and Okapara Linus were re-arraigned before Justice Ibironke Harrison of a Lagos High Court sitting in Tafawa Balewa Square, TBS, over five charges, including those of conspiracy, kidnapping and attempted murder.
The new re-arraignment is coming on the heels of the transfer of their case file from Justice Akintoye Adedayo, who handled the case initially, to Justice Harrison, to commence the trial afresh.
Chukwudumeme and his accomplices are alleged to have kidnapped Chief James Uduji and collected $1.2m ransom at 7th Avenue, Festac Town, Lagos, on September 7, 2015 against Sections 411, 271 (3) and 230 (A), of the State criminal laws of 2015.
They are also being accused of attempted murder haven fired gun shots at Uduji and Donatus Nwoye, hitting the latter on the hand, as well as shooting one Mr. Jereome Okezie on the hand and head.
The quartet pleaded not guilty to the charges after which Presiding Judge, Justice Harrison, adjourned trial to May 3 and 4, 2023.
