NOA reaffirms commitment to national values charter

The Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, has reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to sensitizing Nigerians on the National Values Charter aimed at fostering national progress, democracy, unity, and good governance.

Issa-Onilu, represented by Barrister Tessy Nnalue, Head of the Department of Orientation and Behavior Modification (OBM), spoke during a media briefing in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, as part of activities marking the launch of a three-month nationwide sensitization campaign.

He emphasized the pivotal role of the media in driving public awareness, stating: “We are here to reaffirm our commitment to the National Values Charter and the National Anthem. At NOA, we are dedicated to promoting values orientation and attitudinal change.”

He called for media support, highlighting that the project requires collective responsibility to achieve its goals of national unity and social cohesion: “Together, let’s foster a culture of responsibility and accountability.”

The Director of NOA’s Akwa Ibom Directorate, Mr. Mkpoutom Mkpoutom, revealed that the agency had made significant strides in its campaign over the past two weeks. He noted that while slogans are important, deeply ingraining values in citizens’ hearts remains the ultimate objective.

Mkpoutom reiterated NOA’s mandate to communicate government policies and gather feedback to ensure positive societal transformation.
