*Harps on the importance of legislative representation.

Edo state Governor, Sen Monday Okpebholo, has plated host to the 14 lawmakers, member of the state's 7th House of Assembly, elected under the aegis of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The group, often referred to as G-14, were denied inauguration by the administration of the immediate past Governor, Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki.
Sen Okpebholo, who acknowledged the dedication and loyalty of the group to the APC, harped on the importance of legislative representation in a democracy and condemned the decision of Obaseki for denying them of their rightful representation in the Assembly between 2019 and 2023.
According to him, working with only 10 legislators was a blow to democracy.
He conveyed greetings from President Bola Tinubu, who he said, appreciated the loyalty exhibited by the affected law makers to the APC.
While responding to the Governor's gesture, the group congratulated him on his successful inauguration as the 6th civilian Governor of the state. They were full of gratitude to the governor for appointing one of them, Gani Audu, as his Chief of Staff.
Although he did not make any remark on how his administration would affect the position of the law makers, he however, assured that his administration would protect democratic processes and prevent such action in the future
