Senate Screening: Wike Takes A Bow
The Nigeria Senate, on Monday, asked former governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike, to 'take a bow' during his screening as one of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's ministerial nominees.
Wike, who reeled out his Resume to the law makers, informed them that he accepted his nomination because of his passion for the country's development.
“I accepted the offer to serve as a ministerial nomination because of my passion to serve Nigeria.”
His confirmation chances was further boosted by the endorsement he received from Senator Barinada Mpigi, representing Rivers South East.
Describing the former governor as the best man from the state, Sen Mpigi set the stage for a no-case appearance with a request that he be allowed to take a bow.
“His Excellency former Governor Nyesom Wike is our best in Rivers State. He is our leader and role model.
“Distinguished senators, we implore that you should let him just take a bow and go.
“His resume is insufficient to enumerate the works that he has done,” Sen Mpigi noted.
The former Rivers state governor was then told by the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, to take a bow
