CDS Salutes President Tinubu, Nigerians on Democracy Day

Nigeria's Chief of Defence Staff, CDS, General Christopher Gwabin Musa, OFR, has, on behalf of the officers and men of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, felicitated with His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, and all Nigerians, on the occasion of the country’s Democracy Day Celebration.

The message is contained in a release made available to newsmen on Wednesday by Acting Director, Defence Information, Brigadier General Tukur Gusau.

While reaffirming the unwavering commitment and loyalty of the Armed Forces of Nigeria to the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the President, Commander-in-Chief, the CDS noted that the personnel remain dedicated to supporting and strengthening democracy for the benefit of all Nigerians, insisting "we shall continue to collaborate with national and sub-national institutions to entrench constitutional governance."

He acknowledged the sacrifices made by members of the Armed Forces in the various theatres of operation across the country, which he pointed out, is evidence of their commitment to the unity and growth of the country.

While enjoining the personnel to continue to uphold the tenets of democracy, safeguard citizens' rights, and ensure a peaceful and secure environment for all, the CDS equally appealed to all Nigerians to remain positive towards the challenges being faced.

According to him, Nigerians must endeavour to support the Armed Forces in the fight against all acts of terrorism and criminality, assuring them that victory is in sight.
