Abducted Anambra Law Maker Found Dead

The Nigerian Police, Anambra State command has announced the discovery of the body of the law maker representing Onitsha North council area of the state, Hon Justice Azuka. 

His decomposing body was found at the 2bd Niger Bridge.

The disclosure is contained in a statement made available to newsmen by the spokesperson for the state police command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu.

According to the command, the body was found early Thursday when a joint security team, comprising the police and members of the Anambra Vigilante Group, AVG, swooped on the 2nd Niger Bridge as part l of the efforts to rescue him.

"In the early hours of today, 6/2/2025 at the second niger bridge, the Joint Security team comprising of Police and AVG Operatives on a mission to rescue abducted Hon. Azuka, Honourable State House of Assembly member representing Onitsha North, regrettably found his lifeless body at the scene," the statement read in part.

Although the command is yet to get any definite statements on the circumstances surrounding his death FreshNews gathered that a number of suspects have already been arrested by the police.

He was abducted Tuesday night along the Ugwunapampa Road in his council area. More details in subsequent reports
