Police Inspector-General Withdraws Adamawa police boss over stalled governorship rerun
The Inspector General of Police, IGP, Usman Baba, has ordered the immediate withdrawal of the Commissioner of Police on election duty in Adamawa State, Mohammed Barde over the stalled governorship rerun election.
Barde is to leave the state without delay.
The disclosure is contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday by Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi.
The development, the statement stressed, is a further proof of the IGP's commitment to and fair Democratic process.
The statement disclosed further that the IGP also named the Commissioner of Police in charge of Gombe State, CP Etim Equa, as Barde's replacement.
Equa is to proceed to Adamawa with dispatch to suoerintend security concerns till the end of the rerun.
