Anambra Police Intercept Another Armed Robbery Gang

Operatives of the Anambra state Police Command, on Thursday, unmasked another robbery gang.
The disclosure is contained in a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday by command spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu.
According to the statement, a detachment of Police from the Forward Operating Base, Aguata, Aguata council area, accosted a speeding Mercedes GLK 350 4Matic SUV along the Uga-Ezinifite Expressway.
Acting on the suspicion that they may be kidnappers with an abducted victim, they went in pursuit. They however, found the vehicle in a ditch but without any occupant.
The team also found clothing with blood stains, two pump action guns and a machete inside the wine-colored vehicle with registration No. Enugu ENU 484 JV.
The vehicle has been recovered and deposited at Area Command Headquarters in Uga.
Investigation has commenced with a view to identifying the owner of the vehicle and ascertaining the circumstances leading to the recovery of arms and offensive weapons inside it.
