Anambra Police Nab Gun Runner Lending Arms to Criminals

The Anambra police command, in umunaga village, Awka South Council Area, nab one Friday Emenike, a suspected gun runner who lends weapons to criminals operating in and around the state..
The arrest was effected by operatives of the command’s Enugu-Ukwu based Anti-Cultism Squad on Saturday.
According to a statement made available to newsmen by spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, Emenike, 42, who Hails from Izzi council area of Ebonyi State, lends weapons to criminals operating in and around Awka.
Also on Saturday, operatives of the command raided an identified black spot in Umunaga Village, Awka South Council Area where they arrested one 27 year-old Okechukwu Chinwuko from Umunaga Village and Ezenwa Chinedu, 22, from Umuneri Village.
One Pump action gun, three live cartridges, Cutlass, and other criminal substances were recovered from them. The female victims who were sexually abused by the hoodlums were rescued.
The suspects reportedly owned up to renting guns and other weapons from one Ekpo who has also been arrested.
