Breaking: Tinubu Creates Ministry of Livestock Development
*Set to transmit Ministerial nominee to senate
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has increased the number of federal ministries for the current 26 with the creation of one additional one-the Livestock Development Ministry on Tuesday. The announcement was made during the inauguration of the Renewed Hope Agenda at the Presidential, Abuja.
Although he did not specifically mention the identity of the new minister for the ministry sources say he is expected to transmit the name to the Senate for screening and confirmation if the individual is a new nominee.
The Vice President, Kashim Shettima, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Senator George Akume, the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila were among cabinet members who graced the event.
Barely one year ago, precisrly on September 15, 2023, the President approved the establishment of the Presidential Committee to reform the livestock industry and provide long-term solutions to recurring farmers/herders clashes across the country.
The establishment of the committee followed the submission of a report by the National Conference on Livestock Reforms and Mitigation of Associated Conflicts in Nigeria
