Halt The Samoa Implementation Agreement, Reps Tell Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been told to put a hold on the implementation of the Samoa agreement.

The order was given Tuesday by the House Of Representatives following the adoption of the motion by the deputy Minority leader, Aliyu Madaki, NNPP, representing the Dala Federal Constituency, Kano, and 88 other members of the House, until the issues surrounding alleged offensive contents are are sorted out.

Recall that the federal government recently signed the Samoa Agreement with the European Union,covering global challenges. However, the signing of the document has been dogged bya plethora of controversy over allegations that it contains clause that give tacit legal backing to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender rights.

Stringent attempts by the Nigerian government to stave off the allegation, coupled with denials by independent assessors which found no such proof in the 172 page document, appears to fall on deaf ears.
