Build Skills, Capacity, Fmr JCI counsels Young Nigerians
*Says challenges should be seen as opportunities.

Immediate past President of the Junior Chamber International, JCI, Attahiru Bala Abdullahi, has called on young Nigerians to keep building their skills and capacity in order to find economic fulfillment.
He made the call in Abuja on Sunday while speaking to newsmen on the sideline of the leadership workshop organized by JCI as part of its annual leadership building programmes.
"My advise to young persons is let's continue to build skills, let's continue to build capacities that will enable them have more than stream of income in order to survive the hardship we have now.
"If we are able to build skills as young persons, we will be able to do a lot more," he advised.
Abdullahi pointed out that with the right skills and capacities, young people can walk round a number of the challenges engendered by certain government policies.
Describing the ongoing economic malaise as a global issue, Abdullahi posited that with the right skills and capacity, young people will be able out-manuevre difficulties they may face from tome to time. The challenges, he noted, should be seen as opportunities to build the capacity required for breakthrough.
"When you have some of those effects in your business, you can manuevre some of these challenges that government policies can bring. With the right skills, right experience and network, we will be able to overcome such difficulties."
Also speaking at the event tagged" Leading Successfully, the VUCA World, the Director General, National Productivity Centre, Dr Nasir Mustapha Raji, who spoke Leading successfully, urged young people to be creative and innovative as that is the only way they turn adversity into opportunities.
According to him, any young person with the right skills, attitude, ability and commitment will thrive well.
Dr Raji who spoke extensively on leading successfully against the VUCA (volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity) backdrop, urged young people not to rely on white collar jobs given that small and medium scale enterprises, SME, drive modern economy.
"Young people should know that without skills, ability and commitment, no employer will be able to working with a lot of them. In most cases, you will notice that employers are very cautious in employing as many youths as possible because of the problem of attitude.
"Young people need to change their attitude. They need to be positive minded to support the organizations where they work and see it as part of them," lectured.
