Chief Dr Bonny Ekwalor: A Man Inspired by His People's Kindness

Dr Bonny Ekwalor: A Voice for the Voiceless By Omah Ngozi The faces of the people of Uzam community, Anambra West council area, had many reasons to wear glowing looks on Christmas day. Beyond the usual gaiety that comes with celebration, they also had with them, one of their illustrious sons, Chief Dr Bonny Ekwalor who, for the umpteenth time, came home to demonstrate his uncommon connection to the people.

As always, he among his people, loaded to the tilt with life-transforming goodies, to reenact his connection to his root.

Amidst pump and ceremony, Chief Ekawlor stood proudly with his people, a heart full of gratitude as he reflected on his remarkable career in government services that spanned several years at different levels, all of which stand as a testament of his hard work.

Ironically, rather than attribute his success to his uncommon dedication and extra ordinary humility, he gave it all to his community that raised great farmers who made it a duty to selflessly shared their harvests with every one else. Their unmatched and very selfless gesture, he explained, inspired him to embark on what he terms "pay-it-forward gesture. Arising from that, he cannot thank his community enough for raising kind-hearted men who inspire him at all times. 

Determined to follow the farmer's exemplary conduct, Chief Ekwalor has since established the Ozuome Ada Care Foundation, a noble initiative aimed at supporting widows, orphans, and the elderly both in not just his community but beyond as he aims to reach the larger Nigerian community with life-changing gestures. That probably explains why he stood, suffused by an overwhelming sense of pride and fulfilment as he beheld the gathering of his people before him in his country home.

Chief Ekwalor could not have felt any less as his story served to remind him of the fact that success is not solely about personal achievements but more of the positive impact anyone can have on others.
