Soludo Breaks Uli Power Jinx 21 Years After

Omah Ngozi, Awka

The Chukwuma Soludo administration has made another giant stride in its transformation agenda in Anambra state within 30 months in office. In addition to breaking the long-standing jinx of being without a proper government house and governor’s lodge in the capital for 33 years, the governor has successfully cleared and transformed an 18-year-old 12-foot waste dump site at the Ochanja roundabout into a beautiful water fountain. Now, he is resolving the chronic power outages that have plagued the Uli community and the Uli Campus of Chukwuemeka Odemegwu Ojukwu University for over two decades.

This intervention marks a crucial moment in the state’s development, as residents and students have endured 21 years of persistent darkness, which has hindered both community life and educational progress.

For Soludo, the commitment to provide reliable electricity in Uli is not merely about illuminating homes and businesses; it is about ensuring economic growth and ensuring that the Uli Campus excels in its mission. Reliable access to electricity is fundamental for any institution of higher learning to thrive, enabling the university to deliver high-quality education and produce graduates equipped with the skills necessary to compete in a globalized economy.

To enhance academic performance and promote innovation, research, and technological advancements, the availability of consistent electricity is crucial. The intervention led by Soludo promises to significantly increase educational opportunities for students and faculty alike while transforming the local economy.

By investing in essential infrastructure such as reliable power supply, Soludo aims to uplift the standard of living for residents of Uli and create a conducive learning environment that promotes creativity, initiative, and excellence. Soludo’s commitment to addressing the age-long electricity crisis in Uli represents a forward-thinking approach to governance that prioritizes both the welfare of Ndi Anambra and the advancement of educational institutions as engines of economic development. His vision for a prosperous homeland is a reality, one power line at a time.
