Falcons Make FIFA's Top 10 Teams

Nigeria's senior female national football team, the Super Falcons, now sit among world's top 10 in FIFA's ranking.

The new ranking is sequel to the team's outstanding outing in the just concluded FIFA Women World Cup. 

This development is contained in a release by the world football governing body after Spain Sunday emerged victorious over England after Sunday's final match to emerge world champion at the Sydney stadium, Australia. 

According to FIFA rules, the ranking is, based on the assessment of teams eliminated at a comparable stage of the competition in accordance with the circumstances surrounding their elimination.

The Nigerian team secured its present 10th position following its remarkable performance, in addition to the specific circumstances surrounding its elimination. 

As the only African team in top 10, Super Falcons sit atop teams from top female footballing countries, including Brazil, Germany, Brazil, Italy, Portugal, etc, just as they are Africa's best and highest ranked.
