Grant Nnamdi Kanu Access To His Doctors-Court Orders DSS
*Kanu to bear the cost

A federal High court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Department of State security, DSS, to grant leader of the Independent People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanus, access to his medical doctors.
The order was issued Thursday by Justice Binta Nyako on Thursday, following an application by Kanu’s lead counsel, Prof. Mike Ozekhome.
Justice Nyako who dismissed the DSS’s objection, noting that Kanu had a right to demand medical attention by medical practitioners of his choice, insisted however, that applicant is entitled to medical attention at his own cost.
Nnamdi’s counsel had argued that his client’s health had deteriorated since the time he was extradited from Kenya to Nigeria in June 2021, demanding that he needed to see doctors of his own choosing.
His argument was countered by the counsel to the DSS who argued that Kanu’s health was not in danger, adding that he was already receiving adequate medical care.
