Heightened Ekiti Insecurity: State Police Command Announces Arrest of Five Kidnap Suspects
Ekiti state police command announced Monday that has arrested five kidnap suspects as part of its attempt to drive out criminals from the state.
The Command made the disclosure in a statement posted on @EkitiPoliceNG, its X (formerly Twitter) handle.
According to the statement, the feat was recorded by a combined team of security operatives comprising the police, NSCDC, Amotekun, opc and local hunters.
The team, the statement noted, went on a bush-hunting search following recent high ranking incidents of kidnap in the state.
The joint security team, the statement added, combed the forest from Oke-Osun, through Ikere/Igbo OKAH to the thick forest around Iju/Ikere boundary axis.
It announced that the five, including Usman Jelili, Mohammed Bande, Abubakar Aliu, Isah Abdulahi and Suleiman Abdulahi, were picked up during the process.
The five are also said to have insisted that they are herdsmen. However, they were found and arrested in the forest without a single cattle.
Items recovered from them include two Motorcycles, one cutlass, one jack knife/ dagger and four phones.
