India Becomes World's Most Populous Nation, Pushes China To Second Position
India is world's most populated country with 1,425 billion people.
Brandishing an estimated population of over 1.425 billion people, India has officially become the the most populated nation on planet earth.
This has been confirmed by the Guinness World Records, GWR.
Quoting new figures released by the United Nations' Population Division, Guinness World Records estimates the Asian country’s resident population at a whooping 1,425,775,850 against China's 2022 figure put at 1.426 billion inhabitants.
“China had held the record ever since the UN started keeping track of population sizes around the globe in the 1950s.
“Surprisingly, India has overtaken China despite being almost THREE TIMES smaller.
“India has an area of 3.287 million sq km (1.269 m sq mi), while China covers a whopping 9.597 m sq km (4 m sq mi),” GWR said in a statement.
