LASTMA Equips Personnel With 500 More Body Cameras
Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, LASTMA, has equipped its personnel with 500 body cameras.

The Lagos State Traffic Management Agency, LASTMA, has distributed 500 additional cameras, referred to as Traffic Management Solutions, TMS, to its men and officers to enhance their operational efficiency.
The development is contained in a statement made available to newsmen at the close of a 21-day scientific training for its personnel on usage of the devices, by the agency’s spokesperson, Adebayo Taofiq, on Friday.
“The Lagos State Government has deployed addition 500 Traffic Management Solution, (TMS) devices to personnel of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) to enhance transparency in traffic management across the State,” Taofiq said.
According to the statement, the devices will provide accurate validation of any tale tendered by either LASTMA personnel or motorists with pictorial and video evidences necessary for investigating complaints. He added that the device would also provide security for the personnel by dissuading would-be attackers from carrying out their heinous crime knowing they would be captured by the body camera.
“It is going to be a transparent procedure for both the Law enforcement Officers and motorists as minor arguments on traffic Laws violation will be put to rest through detailed recordings to be presented/analysed at the Lagos State Mobile Court,” LASTMA said in the statement.
While assuring that LASTMA personnel have been trained on the use of the device, the agency urged members of the public, particularly motorists, to be conscious of traffic laws and obey every road sign across the state.
