Murder Over Land Dispute: Itam Orders Full Investigation

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has ordered full investigation into the murder of three persons at Isionye, a boundary community between Enugu-Ukwu and Nwafia.

The incident, which took place at about 2pm, Monday afternoon, September 9, 2024, also left five other persons injured.

In a release made available to newsmen by command spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the command disclosed that preliminary report indicate that the victims were lured, via phone, into to the disputed land in the guise of a land transaction.

However, they were ambushed with machetes and guns, leading to the death of the victims, with several others receiving various injuries. 

While the deceased have been deposited at the morgue, the survivors, who have been debriefed, are currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed medical facility. 

While sueing for calm, the Commissioner assured that those found culpable will be brought to face the full wrath of law, adding that operatives of the command have already recovered a Sienna vehicle that was used by the suspected killers
