Nigerian Airforce Chopper Crashes In Niger
*Said to be on evacuation mission
A Nigerian Airforce M-171 helicopter on Monday crashed crashed near Chukuba Village, Shiroro council area, Niger state.
It was said to be on an Evac mission when it came down.
The development was disclosed in a statement released Monday afternoon by Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet.
According to the statement, the craft departed Zungeru Primary school en route Kaduna. It was however, discovered to have crashed on its way.
Though details are still sketchy about the crash, the statement noted that efforts are being made to rescue the crew and passengers aboard the chopper.
It added that investigations have also commenced with a view to determining the probably cause of the crash.
