NUC Executive Secretary Quits Office

Professor Abubakar Rasheed, Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission, NUC, has voluntarily tendered his resignation as head of the commission.

Although no details were given, Prof Rasheed made the disclosure on Monday while speakig with Punch correspondent, noting however, that he was heading back to the Bayero University, Kano, BUK, to continue with his job as lecturer.  

Prof Rasheed, under whose leadership the commission approved the highest number of universities, was appointed seven years ago during the tenure of former education minister, Adamu Adamu.
