Obi Vs Tinubu: Apex Court Reserves Judgement

Nigeria's apex court, the Supreme Court, on Monday reserved its verdict on the appeal by the candidate of the Labour Party, LP, Peter Obi, challenging the judgement of the February 25, 2023 Presidential Election.
The court’s seven-member panel, led by Justice Inyang Okoro, reached the decision following the adoption of briefs by all the parties.
Obi and his party, the LP, urged the court to uphold the appeal and set aside the ruling of the Presidential Election Petition Court, PEPC, which dismissed their petition. The duo addressed the court through their counsels, led by Dr. Livy Uzoukwu, SAN.
On the other hand, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress, APC, addressing the court through their lawyers, prayed the court to dismiss the appeal for want of merit.
Thereafter, the seven-man averred that it would communicate the judgment date to all the parties.
