PANDEF congratulates Okpebholo on his successful inauguration, calls for focus on the people’s welfare

The Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), the socio-political and economic apex body representing the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria, has congratulated Senator Monday Okpebholo on his successful inauguration as the Executive Governor of Edo State, alongside his Deputy Governor, Hon. Dennis Idahosa.
The peaceful and successful inauguration of the duo has been described as a blessing for Edo State, particularly at a time when nations around the world are grappling with economic recession. PANDEF expressed optimism that the leadership of Governor Okpebholo and Deputy Governor Idahosa would usher in a new era of progress for the people of Edo State.
In a statement issued by the PANDEF National Publicity Secretary, Chief Dr. Obiuwevbi Christopher Ominimini, the organization called on the newly sworn-in Governor and his team to always place the interests of the Edo people at the forefront of their governance. PANDEF emphasized the importance of serving the people who overwhelmingly voted for them, urging the leadership to remain committed to the welfare and development of the state.
“We congratulate Governor Okpebholo and Deputy Governor Idahosa for their successful inauguration. This is a momentous occasion for Edo State, and we are confident that their leadership will bring positive change,” the statement read. “It is crucial for the Governor and his team to always remember that their mandate is a reflection of the trust and hopes placed in them by the good people of Edo. As such, the people’s welfare must always be paramount in their policies and actions.”
PANDEF expressed strong confidence in the ability of the new Governor and Deputy Governor to perform creditably, citing their track record of public service. Both leaders, the organization noted, had previously represented the people of Edo State in the National Assembly, where they earned the trust of their constituents. Their reelection to the higher role of governing the state was a testament to the confidence the people placed in their leadership.
Ambassador Godknows Igali, the PANDEF National Leader and a seasoned diplomat, reiterated the forum’s commitment to working closely with the new administration in Edo State, as well as with other governors in the Niger Delta region. This collaboration, he emphasized, is essential for achieving sustainable and holistic development in the region.
“We remain committed to liaising with the Governor and other regional leaders to ensure that the Niger Delta achieves its rightful place in the national development agenda,” Ambassador Igali stated.
