Philanthropist Celebrates New Yam Festival in Grand Style

A philanthropist, community leader and businessman, Enchazona Ifechukwu, recently held his Umuanuk, Itolo, Nnewi community spellbound as he celebrated the 2025 New Yam festival in a grand style.

Ifechukwu, also known as Nwatachinawaleoji Eche Money, pulled a massive crowd to the community where he hosted dignitary with festivities, merriments, dance and other general fanfare. 

The Lagos based business also used the occasion to educate youths of the community on the values of the festival. According to him, the New Yam festival is a significant Igbo culture which is celebrated to express gratitude to God not only for good harvest, success in business, etc, but also for keeping everyone alive for another year.

While reaffirming his commitment to helping those in need as part of the blessing he received from God, he used the ocassion to reassure the people of his dedication to the service to mankind.

He encouraged the youth to embrace and seek out positive cultural practices cautioning them against getting involved in harmful or fetish activities, adding that taking the route is the easiest road to self destruction. He cautioned them to always endeavour to work hard and strive to succeed in life through good means.

As part of the activities to mark the occasion, he was inducted into the Dynamic Club, Nnewi, which according to club officials, is in recognition of his immense humanitarian He was inducted, gestures and values, all of which are cardinal objectives of the club.

Describong his philanthropic acts, including support for the poor, as commendable, the club praised him for showing love and care to those in need.

"It is truly commendable. It is great to see such comareaderie and commitment in an individual," One of the club officials pointed out.

His mother was also celebrated and showered with gifts for raising such a humane young man.
