Police Arrest Ilorin Alfa for Killing, Dismembering Lady
*Find her dismembered body in a bowl in his apartment.
Operatives of the Kwara state command of the Nigerian Police have arrested a man described as an Alfa in ilorin, the state capital over the gruesome murder and dismemberment of a young lady he met on Facebook.
The Alfa, Abdulrahman Mohad Bello, the son of a prominent cleric who died recently, is now with the police facing charges of killing the lady, Lawal Hafsoh Yetunde, a final-year student of the Kwara State College of Education.
Yetunde went missing shortly after answering a call at a naming ceremony on Monday February 10, 2025. Sources say, she excused herself from friends while receiving a call after which she allegedly dashed out of the venue.
She was never seen afterwards, prompting her family to report her disappearance to the police at the Oja-Oba Police Station within Ilorin metropolis.
Acting on digital information gathered by Operatives of the command, Abdulrahman was identified as the last person she spoke with on her phone.
Subsequently, he was tracked to his Offa Garage where he denied any knowledge of the lady during preliminary questioning. However, he owned up after being confronted with ireefutable evidences of their brief relationship which he initially denied.
Further search of his apartment revealed a horrifying discovery with the finding of her dismembered remains which were kept in a big bowl. He however claimed that the young lady died in the course of her visit following an asthma attack.
The suspect has since been placed in custody as security operatives conduct further investigations in the wake of the discovery that the victim was not only killed for ritual purposes but may indeed not be his first first victim.
