One of America's popular TV show hosts, Jerry Springer, is dead.
Springer, host of the widely syndicated 'The Jerry Springer Show' died on Thursday morning in his home after succumbing to pancreatic cancer.
TMZ quoting a family source, reports that Springer, one of the most influential and controversial hosts in television history was diagnosed of the ailment a few months ago. However, his illness took a turn for the worse this week.
Springer is known to have run for a sit in the US Congress in 1970 but failed before getting elected to Cincinnati's City Council the following year. He was also elected Mayor in 1977 and served just one term.
He became a TV host in 1991 with The Jerry Springer Show" which featured no hold barred guests who often get into crazy fights while the crowd chants his name. He became an instant global brand, topping the Oprah Winfrey Show in several US cities before going off air in 2018.
He's survived by his daughter Katie Springer and his older sister Evelyn.
