Stop Pussyfooting, Face Tinubu’s Work, PDP Is not Your Private Property-Fabiyi Counsels Wike

A stakeholder in the Ogun State chapter of the Peoples Democratic party and Leader of the PDP Young Generation Caucus, Fabiyi Oladimeji, has reacted to the vituperation of Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesome Wike, on his media chat bragging about his power to stop anyone from winning the party ticket in 2027 among other sundry matters.
In a press statement he personally signed and made available to media on Thursday, Fabiyi counsel Wike not to play God, adding that playing the role indicates that the end is near.
“When a man, privileged to be in position of power, Influence or authority begins to challenge and play God who put him in that position, it is an indication that such a man is getting nearer to his end, I don’t mean death.
“That is the case of Nyesom Wike, who perhaps has forgotten few lessons God has tried to indirectly teach him in the past but he never listened because he was blinded by greed, ambition, revenge and vengeance
“To arrogantly declare that Atiku will not get the Presidential ticket on the platform of the PDP in 2027 is to say the least nauseating, and an indication of frustration of Wike’s inability to get uncountable loyal party members away from Atiku.
“Let it be known that it is not In Wike’s place to make such fallacious declaration, as It holds no water.
“It is charitable to remind Wike and his coteries of self-deluded supporters that he (Wike) contested against Atiku in his home soil of Portharcourt in 2019, Atiku badly defeated him. In 2023, he threw himself into the ring in Abuja, Atiku badly injured and defeated him-a crushing defeat and humiliation he is yet to overcome.
"On these two occasions Wike was a sitting governor wasting away all Rivers tax payers resources at his disposal in his rabid attempt to play God.
"Let Wike also be reminded that on the contrary to his vague and baseless rhetorics, Nigerians did not reject Atiku’s policy; rather they embraced it.
“Indeed, Nigerians are seriously yearning for Atiku to come to the rescue of the nation at this critical time the economy, most especially, is at the comatose and no solution seems to be in sight from the government that Wike serves in.
“Today, Nigerians regrett not fighting for thier stolen mandate.
“If Wike feels so strongly that this is the best Nigerians can get from the stolen mandate , then he may need to be critically examined and evaluated. It must be emphasized that Wike and his cohorts are standing alone , NIgerians have known better and have left them behind.
Fabiyi also took a swipe on Wike for talking down on other chieftain of the part, noting that it is ridiculous for him to do so.
“It is ridiculous to hear Wike castigate Gov. Bala Mohammed for a change of mind from a satanic inordinate and selfish plans.
“It is also fallacious and insulting to the intelligence of party members to say that Bala reneged on their understanding, because of selfish interest. The question is: are these characters he mentioned, Seyi Makinde, Ahmadu Fintiri, Bala Mohammed, Sam Anyanwu, Iliya Damagun and Bature the NOS-the owners of the PDP to have agreed that Damagun will complete Ayu’s tenure as against the letters and spirit of the party’s constitution? What happens to the views of other PDP Governors, Sentors, Reps members and other critical stakeholders in the party that constitute the decision making body?
“Wike has no right to query Bala’s action, even though I hold no brief for Governor Bala Muhammad, because we must question the Bauchi governor’s intentions for teaming up with Wike in the first instance. Why is Wike fighting dirty to destroy the PDP?
“Let Wike be reminded of how he made several public statements that he will never do this or that to the point of placing curses on himself, but he eventually reneged and went back on his words, how does one classify this unstable and selfish character?
“To every discerning mind, the decision according to Wike that 5 of them sat and decided that Damagun will serve out the Ayu’s term is more or less a beer parlour talk, or a private conversation amongst the strange bed fellows. One wonders if these five rebellious and recalcitrant characters are the owners of PDP.
“The final decision on whether Damagun remains or not as the interim chairman of the PDP is the prerogative of the National Executive Committee of the party.
“Finally, Wike should be educated that Atiku is preoccupied with how best to reposition the PDP he and others formed when Wike was still a baby lawyer and get the country work for the citizens, hence, his objective and robust criticisms of the failed policies of Tinubu’s administration.
“Atiku is never afraid of election both at the party and National level. He has never asked anyone not to enter the ring against him in any competitive election.
“One wonders why Wike is so agitated, frustrated and afraid of Atiku that at the mention of Atiku he enters panic mode like his paymaster,” Fabiyi remarks
