Tinubu Appoints Ajuri Ngelale as Climate Action Envoy
*Sets up committee on green economy

Enterprising broadcast and spokesperson for the Bola Ahmed Tinubu administration, Ajuri Ngelale, has been appointed as Climate Action envoy.
The appointment is sequel to the establishment of a presidential committee on climate action and green economic solutions.
Led by the President himself, the committee has Balarabe Abbas, minister of environment, as vice-chairman.
Segun Imohiosen, director of information in the office of the secretary to the government of the federation (AGF), who made the disclosure, noted that the president appointed Ngelale as the special presidential envoy.
According to a presidential statement, the committee is mandated to “coordinate and oversee all policies and programmes on climate action and green economic development”, part of which includes identifying, developing and implement innovative non-oil & non-gas climate action initiatives.
It is expected to coordinate the activities of relevant federal government institutions with a view to attaining all agreed climate actions, green economic objectives and non-oil/non-gas ambitions”.
Ngalale will act as the committee's secretary/special presidential envoy.
