Anambra Police Intercepts Two Armed Suspects

Following the rejigged Personnel Operational Positioning, POP, in Awka, Anambra state capital, by the new Police Commissioner, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, operatives of the command on Sunday, intercepted two armed suspects riding a tricycle along Amawbia, Nibo road. 

The operatives, on a routine patrol, also recovered one locally-made pistol and tricycle from the armed suspects whose identities are given as Chigozie Echiebu, 25, of Urum Village, Awka council area, and Edwine Emmanuel, also 25, of Nkerefi Village in Nkanu East council area of nearby Enugu State. 

In a statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday by command spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the two suspects have provided information on both their mode of Operations and identities of other gang members.

They are said to be providing more useful information in aid of ongoing investigations.
