Worker's Day: Anambra Police Arrest Two, Recover Arms, Ammo, Stolen Bike

As parts of the commitment towards ensuring public security and safety across the state, the Anambra State Police Command on Thursday, May 1, 2025, arrested two criminal suspects in Nnewi.
The duo were picked up by operatives attached to the Otolo-Nnewi division who also day recovered from the suspects one foreign made pistol, three live ammunitions and a lady's motorcycle suspected to have been stolen.
In a statement made available to newsmen by by command spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the suspects, identified ad 21 year old Ani Obinna and 43 year old Okwudili Ezike were arrested during a hot chase by the Police Operatives acting on credible information.
Their arrest, the statement added, led to the raid of a criminal hideout in Nnewi.
During interrogation, the suspects confessed to being members of a secret cult and a kidnapping gang. They also gave useful information which theoperatives are currently working on aims at dislodging their criminal network and arresting of other gang members.
Meanwhile, the command has reaffirmed its determination to maintain sustained security patrol in the area adding that it would secure all parts of the state for all residents.
