Yuletide: Look Out for Serious Traffic Gridlock on the 1st and 2nd Niger Bridge,  Anambra Police Boss Tells Travellers

Anambra police commissioner, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, has informed travellers that there will be traffic gridlock in both the 1st and 2nd Niger Bridges over the yuletide. 

The Commissioner gave the advise while teeing off a joint patrol operation with the Delta State Police Command and the National Road Safety Corps, FRSC, in a proactive strategy to address perennial traffic congestions at the Niger Bridge during and after this yuletide.

The joint operations, embedded in the Operational Plan of the Commissioner Of Police, CP Nnaghe Obono Itam, is designed to help travellers to and from the state, go through less traffic hassles over the period. 

The Commissioner, who paid a working visit to the bridges with FRSC Sector Commander, Delta State, also spoke of the need for cooperation between the command and that of neighbouring Delta to nib all criminal activities, particularly on the road, in the bud while also making way for free flow of traffic. 

The CP further affirmed that the state command will continue to explore strategies to ensure the safety of the travelling public while also remaining focused on consolidating on the gains already recorded in crime prevention, restoration of law and order and improving on the safety and security of lives.
