Anambra Police Arrest 25 Year-Old Mother For Brutalizing 8 Year-Old Maid
Arrested for inflicting bodily injuries.
Operatives of the Anambra state Police Command have arrested a woman, Mrs. Chinyere Ifesinachi, 25, for brutalizing an 8 year-old girl, a maid, under her custody.
The development is contained in a release made available to newsmen on Sunday by command spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu.
According to the statement, Mrs Ifesinachi was arrested following public outcry over a trending video which showed the young girl, a maid, with different degrees of injuries all over her body.
The incident took poll ace at Nkpor, by King of Glory road.
Images obtained by FreshNews showed the 8 year-old girl with swollen injuries around her eyes, obviously making it difficult for her to properly open both eyelids.
State police commissioner, CP Echeng Echeng, who frowned at the inhuman treatment melted on the underage girl, assured that the state Command will continue to do everything within it's power to protect everyone in the state, including vulnerable children.
He added that the case is being attended to with dispatch as the culprit will be charged to cult very soon. On his orders, the case has been transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, for comprehensive investigation.
