Anambra Police Neutralize Kidnap Suspect, Rescue One Victim

Operatives of the Anambra State Police Command, on Saturday, neutralized a suspected kidnapper during an exchange of Gun fire.
The operatives also rescued a kidnapped victim, simply identified as Abuchi, in the course of the incident which took place at Umuota village, Obosi, Idemili North council area of the state.
According to a statement made available to newsmen by the command spokesperson, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, the incident occurred shortly after the operatives received a distress call while on an anti-crime patrol around the area at about 7:30pm.
Acting on the information, the operatives trailed the kidnap suspects to an uncompleted building where a gunfire exchange with the kidnappers ensued.
While one of the hoodlums, Nwasu Ikenna, a native of Obosi, was wounded and apprehended, the others escaped.
The arrested kidnap suspect, now receiving treatment in a health facility, identified his fleeing colleagues as Ebuka, aka Big, who is leader of the gang; Chinedu Emmanuel and Chukwu Ojoto.
Subsequent search revealed a double barrel pistol, one expended and two live catridges which the operatives recovered
