Arrested Anambra Gunman Identified By Rape Victim As Her Violator
*Identifies her stolen phone from exhibits recovered from suspect
The lone gunman arrested by the operatives of the Anambra state police command a few days ago has been identified by a rape victim as her violator.
The victim, a 24 year-old graduate of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, told the police that the suspect, alongside his other accomplices, abducted her at gunpoint on Monday, July 10, aboard a tricycle she boarded along Ifite to Aroma Junction.
She added that was then taken to a hotel in Awka where she was dispossessed of her personal belongings and raped before being allowed to go.
The traumatized young woman also identified her phone among the phones recovered from the suspect.
Upon interrogation over the allegation, the suspect admitted robbing the victim at gun point and also provided the names of two of his accomplices. He however, denied the rape charge.
Meanwhile, the management of the hotel the suspect lodged prior to being arrested, informed the police that he was lodged in one of its rooms. Upon receipt of the information, the police conducted a search on the said room where they recovered two more Berreta Pistols among his personal effects.
The command also received information to the effect that the suspect is responsible for the murder of at least two persons in separate incidents in the state capital in the last three months.
