Edo Gov-Elect Okpebholo Appoints Fred Itua As Chief Press Secretary

The incoming Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has made his first official appointment by naming Fred Itua as Chief Press Secretary. Itua, a seasoned journalist with The Sun Newspaper, will lead the Governor’s media team as Okpebholo takes office on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

With over 13 years of experience in journalism and media consultancy, Itua is known for his expertise in covering a wide array of critical topics, from humanitarian issues to governance. His professional background includes hosting Inside The Red Chamber, an online TV program, and co-hosting the radio show Bottom Line, where his dynamic style and media acumen have made a lasting impact.

Itua’s career highlights include extensive work on the National Assembly, migration, health, anti-corruption efforts, and environmental issues, giving him a deep understanding of both national and global affairs. Renowned for his strategic storytelling and ability to simplify complex topics, he is highly effective at building narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.

In addition to his media expertise, Itua is skilled in public relations, communications strategy, content development, social media management, and comprehensive media planning. He is also known for his adaptability, resilience, and professionalism in high-pressure environments, excelling in both live and pre-recorded broadcasts.

Itua holds a Bachelor’s degree in English from Ambrose Alli University, a Master’s in Media Arts from the University of Abuja, and is nearing completion of his Ph.D. in Development Communication at Veritas University, Abuja.
