Gov Yusuf Orders Arrest of Ado Bayero
*As deposed emir returns to Kano
Kano state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has ordered the arrest of deposed Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero, who returned to the ancient city after his dethronement.
Before resurfacing in Kano after his dethronement on Thursday, the whereabouts of the deposed monarch was unon.
It would be recalled that the state House of Assembly repealed the law signed by ex-Governor Abdullahi Ganduje on December 5, 2019 which split the emirate into five and appointed Emirs to each.
Following the repeal of the Kano Emirates Council Law, Gov Yusuf gave all the affected Emirs 48 hours to vacate their palaces and hand over to the Commissioner of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
He also proclaimed the reinstatement of erstwhile deposed Emir, Muhammadu Sanusi, who was removed from office as Emir by the Ganduje administration in 2020
