I May Be Opened Blessing For Same Sex Marriages, Pope Francis
*Says blessing is a plea for God's help to live a better life.

Catholic Pontiff, Pope Francis has suggested that he would be open to allowing the church bless same sex marriages.
Francis gave the position in a letter published by the Vatican late Monday, in response to enquiry by a group of Cardinals concerning the need to throw more light on the issue.
Pope Francis suggested in the letter that blessing gay unions should be on a case by case basis, not an official rule, as according to him, “…the life of the church runs on channels beyond norms”.
He added that pastoral charity, a key ingredient for patient and understanding, is required on the issue, admonishing priests to avoid being judges “who only deny, reject and exclude”.
According to him, blessing requested remains a plea for God’s help to live a better life even in morally unacceptable situations.
“The Church has a very clear understanding of marriage: an exclusive, stable, and indissoluble union between a man and a woman, naturally open to procreation
He maintained however, that though it could open the door for blessings of individuals in same-sex unions, the Catholic Church only recognizes marriage as a union between a man and a woman.
Recognition for marriages between man and woman underscores the 2021 decree in which the Vatican expressly noted that the church would not bless gay marriages, emphasizing that ‘God cannot bless sin’.
The religious leader said priests should not only treat people as sinners because they might not fully be at fault for their situations.
