Bandits Abduct 5 Female Katsina University Students From Hostel
*A suspect arrested as alleged informant to the abductors.
Reports say gun-wielding bandits invaded a belonging belonging to the Federal university, FUDMA, Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State, early Wednesday morning and abducted five female students.
The disclosure was made by a relative of one of the abducted students, identified as Muhammad Fatima, who disclosed that the incident occurred at the early of yesterday.
The ralative disclosed that the hoodlums invaded the students’ private lodge along Moriamoh Ajiri Memorial International School, situated along Tsaskiya road, Dutsin-Ma at about 2:30 am.
Other reports say they were abducted while preparing for lectures and taken to an unknown location.
Meanwhile, three of the abducted students have been named while the identity of the remaining two is yet to be confirmed.
The named students include Muhammad Fatima, Bello Fatima Zara and Adam Rahmatallahi.
Katsina state police command spokesperson, Abubakar Aliyu, who confirmed the incident, also disclosed that operatives of the command have arrested an individual suspected to be supplying information to the abductors.
He added that efforts are in top gear to rescue the abducted girls unhurt.
The incident is coming barely two weeks after a similar one took place at the Federal University, Gusau in Zamfara.
