Ifite-Awka Lifeless Baby: Itam Orders Investigation
*Decries moral decay in the society.

Anambra state Police commissioner, Nnaghe Obono Itam, has ordered an immediate investigation into the lifeless body of a baby found today in a sack at a refuse dump along Ifite Road, Awka, on Sunday.
Determined to be a day-old by preliminary investigations, the baby was abandoned by a yet-to-be identified woman suspected to be the mother.
Meanwhile, the body has been recovered and the Police who are currently working on some eyewitness information at the scene for possible arrest of the perpetrator.
Following the discovery, the CP has decried moral decay in society, describing the act not only as ungodly but also barbaric and inhuman.
While calling on anyone with useful information that can lead to the arrest of the culprit to come forward with same, the Commissioner urged parents and guardians to pay greater attention to the actions and conducts of their children and wards.
