International Fund Celebrates Century of Global Experience

The international Fund, dedicated to fostering Russian Orthodoxy values both within the country and abroad, has celebrated its Centenary anniversary. The centenary events, its organizers say, are designed to foster development, strengthen spiritual unity, preserve religious and historical values of Russian orthodoxy across the globe.

Marked with several programs, the high point is what is described as 'global expedition' designed for the propagation of the prote the Most Holy Theotokos, aimed at uniting and protecting Orthodox communities across the world under the intercession of the Mother of God.

Designed in the mode of a spiritual expedition, it involves a relay format characterized by passing a symbolic icon from hand to hand, from country to country, and from continent to continent, crossing seas and oceans.

Among others, the icon is designed to fosters multi-national conciliarity and spiritual ties.

In one of such passages, the icon, meant to deliver grace to those unable to physically visit the birth place, was blessed for veneration in Buenos Aires by hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church, ROC, ROCOR, the Serbian Orthodox Church and the Antiochian Church.

The symbolic expedition, expected to traverse all continents, has helped in uniting Orthodox communities in 28 countries across 5 continents, including the North Pole.
