Major General Olufemi Oluyede Takes Over as Acting CoAS

Major General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede has been appointed as the acting Chief of Army Staff, CoAS.

The appointment, which was approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, was made public Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, Maj Gen Oluyede will, until the return of Lt Gen Taoreed Lagbaja, serve as the CoAS.

Lt Gen Lagbaja is currently on leave of absence.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, has appointed Major General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede as the acting Chief of Army Staff (COAS).

“Oluyede will act in the position pending the return of the indisposed substantive Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja,” the statement read in part.
